The newly announced Ratchet and Clank: Into The Nexus won’t only lose two words from its European release, it also won’t be coming out on Blu-ray disk, instead SCEE opting for a digital-only delivery.
Following on from Tools of Destruction, Quest For Booty, and A Crack in Time, Nexus (as it’ll be known over here) will “revisit Ratchet’s personal story arc” exclusively on PlayStation 3.
“Gravity is one of the themes of the game,” says the blurb. “You’ll experience zero-G space, you’ll use gravity-defying new gadgets, and you’ll manipulate gravity to solve brand new Clank puzzles.”
It’s also PSN-only, and will cost thirty Euros, with a pound value to follow. “It’s currently a digital-only release,” says the Blog’s Fred Dutton.
“It’s our biggest downloadable Ratchet & Clank game yet,” says Insomniac’s James Stevenson, “dwarfing the size of both Quest For Booty and QForce.” Oh good.

I hope they can retain their sense of humour with all that gravity.. ;)
I would prefer a disc but Quest for Booty was also initially download-only so we’ll see what happens down the line.

I can see more and more games being download only. One way of getting round second hand games.

That’s fine, I’ll just import it. Quest for booty was download only but eventually came out on disc in EU as well.

Actually, Fred has corrected his comments. There will be a disc release.

Quest for Booty was great and download only.
But it didn’t cost €30 as well…
