Another day and another release date rumour for the PlayStation 4.
This time the date of October 21st comes from a post on NeoGAF, where a user has posted that the store he works for, which remains unnamed, has received a release schedule pinning that date as release day for Sony’s next gen machine.
This rumour appears to have some weight as that user is mod-verified on GAF, which means that the mods have checked the poster out and have seen enough proof that what he posts is information that could indeed be legitimate.
This would mean the PS4 would release before the One, taking advantage of the small time frame to appeal to the mainstream audience. We’re more than likely to get a solid release date for both next gen consoles next week at Gamescom, where both Sony and Microsoft are hosting conferences.
Personally I hope its release is a week later than this rumoured date, purely because I’ll be on holiday and no one will be home to take the delivery.

The store I put my pre-order in gave information today that the people who put down their pre-order before the 26th of June would receive their console on launch date and that the people who did that before the 6th of august would be guaranteed delivery in the second batch of consoles which would be in December this year at the latest. The rest will not receive their console this year.
They state that this information comes from Sony.
The store is GameMania in The Netherlands. I think tis October date might be correct due to the second batch of consoles is due in December 2013 (at the latest)

Talking to my brother in Perth today, he told me his local game shop has the ps4 down for 11/11/13, also a Monday. Maybe they’re getting it later than us in Australia??

As long as it’s a Monday I’ll be happy as I’m booking the week off work to do nothing but play on the PS4 (oh, and get washed, dressed, take my son to school, pick him up, do some washing, eat, go to the toilet (I might skip this part), see my wife off to work, sleep, etc.).
