Gran Turismo 6 kicked off Sony’s Gamescom briefing with a brand new trailer and confirmed release date. The game will be releasing on the 6th December for the PlayStation 3, and it looks absolutely wonderful.

Sony Pictures are also producing a full length film inspired by the Gran Turismo series and GT Academy.

With GTA V, F1 & PS4 this may be the first GT game I don’t pre-order. Looks good though.

Is there any point in releasing gt6 so close to the ps4 launch? You have to laugh at Sony and polyphony being so disorganised. A lot of scratchers will be trading in their ps3 for a ps4

There will. But it’s also about supporting a still growing PS3 user base.

I am definitely buying GT6 on launch day.
I am definitely not buying a PS4 until (at least) Q2 2014.
I’m fairly sure the majority of ps3 owners will not be upgrading instantly to ps4, so this is a smart move to keep the ps3 user base

GranTurismo vision looks brilliant and is without precedence. Getting real car manufacturers to design cars just for a game and then a few going on to produce a concept car in actuality is pretty amazing.

Really appreciated the handling and overall improvements seen in the GT6 Academy demo, the full release should be the mutts nads, can’t wait for the game to drop on the welcome mat.
Oh, if the game does release for next gen as well (not ruled out yet). then it’ll be a *discounted day one buy also!
