PS4’s European Launch Territories Confirmed

We found out yesterday, after months of speculation, that the PS4 would be launching – a little later than anticipated – on November 15th in North America, and following here in Europe 2 weeks later, November 29th.

Sony have since confirmed a list of the European territories who’ll be getting their excited hands on the PlayStation 4 at the end of November, and it makes for an interesting read, especially when you consider it to include all of the regions in which Microsoft are facing delays with the Xbox One’s launch.

The full list of countries is as follows:

  • Australia
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Luxembourg
  • Netherlands
  • New Zealand
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Russia
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom

  1. Im glad that list is alphabetical or i would be worried the UK would drop off the list!

  2. I love that for some strange reason they class Australia as Europe.

    • unfortunately, it’s not classed the same for prices though.

    • New Zealand as well.

    • hmmmm… maybe someone should explain to them the difference between Europe and the Commonwealth.

      • It’s probably just a list of the Pal regions, not European countries.

      • Exactly. It’s classed together under the PAL banner, simple as that

  3. Check. Mate.

Europe in the bag for Sony again it seems.

  4. Question: the ps4 eye, do you need the move for it or is it kinect?

    • I’m not sure of the move is compatible with it, but I know it uses the dual shock 4 itself, hence the glowing light on top of them.

    • The move is compatible as far as I know. Media Molecule used the move in the reveal event.

I’m pretty sure that it can track people’s movement too.

  5. Not that it effects me, but why was there no mention of a Japanese release date at the sony presser?

    • It’s being released in 2014 for Japan.

      • I suspect they’ll announce the Asain release date at TGS.

  6. I cant wait for the ps4 launch.

  7. Also add in most South American countries getting PS4 also.

    Brazil just Xbone.

  8. Are there any Russian members on TSA? If love to know how the release works over there, since its such a vast and varied country. I wanted to say its a cultural Rainbow, but Putin doesn’t like that sort if talk…

    • It would be mildly comical and ironic to see queues of Russian people stretching round the corner, waiting patiently in the cold for their PS4s.

      • Since we’re doing stereotypes, can we imagine that they’re carrying bags of potatoes and vodka and that none of them are allowed to be gay?

      • In November its all you need, potatoes, vodka, ps4 and some bread, don’t forget the bread.

      • “Bread”? Potato topped pizza’s???

    • Well, haven’t posted here in a while, but just for you. Launch works just like everywhere else, except far regions may get delays. As selfish as it may sound, since I live in Moscow I don’t give a damn. I’d say a positive tendency is in place with Sony – PS3 was quite late, but Vita was on time, well, same time as all Europe. I waited a month after it’s launch though, price went down a little bit.
It’s very obvious that you’re not familiar with Russia at all. Government always, always brag about the cultural rainbow that is our country, while most people just want them to stop letting all those dirty foreigners in. That said, can’t blame you for being ignorant. Some people here also think that US is just full of black rapper gangsters shooting each other and robbing banks. And everybody else there is gay or satanist. Myself I’ve been around the world and people are kinda same everywhere. Same douchebags everywhere…
