Spelunky Launching On PS3 And Vita Tomorrow

Spelunky has existed since 2009 when it first released as a freeware title of Windows. Since then the game released in 2012 on the Xbox 360, and then through Steam earlier this month. Now the game will be releasing on PS3 and Vita, with the additional bonus it will be a Cross Buy and Cross Play title.

The game itself follows an unnamed character who only goes by the title Spelunker, who explores caves and tunnels while searching for treasure. The game will feature multiplayer as well, which will allow you to scout and explore with friends.

It’s going to cost $14.99, which I guess will be £11.99, though PS Plus members will get a 20% discount. You can read more about Spelunky in our Indie Focus feature.

  1. I bet it won’t even be half as good as SteamWorld Dig.

  2. Some of these indy titles are a bit overpriced, looks like a megadrive game!

  3. I’m not digging into my wallet at that price.

  4. Reminds me of my SuperMarioLand-ing days on my Game Boy, but will wait for the eventual, inevitable discount before picking this up I think!

  5. Is Walking dead coming to Vita tommorow also? Was on US site last week.

  6. Will be getting this. The metacritic score suggests it’s a great game and Cross Buy/Play + a discount for my Plus subscription makes it a no-brainer. If only the PS3/Vita version had the daily challenges.
