News Snatch: Spelunky, Batman: Arkham Knight And Far Cry 4


Greetings Snatchlings, step this way for another edition of news which has been mechanically recovered from the internet, processed, steamed, mulched, lightly seasoned and then formed in to tasty nuggets. First up, a new television advert for Sackboy and friends from LittleBigPlanet 3.


Spelunky has been patched on all PlayStation systems with various tweaks and fixes including the addition of ghost runs which were previously only available on PlayStation 4.

Blitzkrieg 3, the latest instalment in the acclaimed WWII Strategy series from Nival is set for release in 2015 and here is a dev diary from the team.


Sad times, there will not be a sequel to Far Cry: Blood Dragon.

“That’s was what was cool about [Blood Dragon], it was surprising,” explained Ubisoft Montreal Creative Director Alex Hutchinson. “It was a great use of the Far Cry 3 base, and had an awesome soundtrack. But no, you won’t get another one of those. But hopefully we’ll be able to surprise you with something just as much.”

However, there will almost certainly be more Killzone on the way.

“If it’s up to us, you haven’t seen the last of the Helghast, but… you know… Who can tell where they’ll pop up next,” said Guerilla Game’s Community Editor, Victor Zuylen.



Retro City Rampage DX is getting a retail version on PlayStation 4 and will include the game on a blu-ray disc, the digital soundtrack, a double sided reversible cover and a few more digital bits and bobs.

Creator Brian Provinciano tweeted “Retro City Rampage DX on PS4 should get a Guinness World Record for smallest game on a PS4 Blu-ray.

The bad news, or good news if you are a collector of all things exclusive, is that there will be just 2,000 copies available, and you can get them from FanGamer.

The full map of Far Cry 4 has been leaked by a sneaky gamer before the game’s release next week.


For the first time in the history of everything, Call of Duty has sold more copies on PlayStation than Xbox, at least on the new consoles. However on the legacy consoles the majority of sales went to Xbox 360.


Rocksteady Studios, developers of Batman: Arkham Knight, have said they are aiming for graphical parity across all three versions of the game.

We’re about six months away from going gold. So we don’t know what the resolution and the frame rate’s going to be yet,” explained the developer. “That’s something that happens during the optimization phase of the game,”

“We’re aiming for parity across all platforms. Whatever it is, it’s going to be awesome.”

  1. Had that map of Far Cry 4 for a few weeks – you get it as a PC download when you pass various rites, a live action mini-game thingy, which also gives you a customised Kukri.
