Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has been beset with a number of problems at launch, most notably the servers being overwhelmed by the huge amount of gamers trying to log on.
Two days after launch Sqaure Enix halted all digital sales whilst they addressed the problem and said they are “working to expand our server capacity in the coming days.”
Whilst they are tackling the problems Square Enix have extended the trial period of the game for another week and now SCEE Blog Manager, Frank Dutton, has posted the following message on the EU PlayStation blog.
All customers that purchased the digital version of the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Standard Edition, or Collector’s Edition, from PlayStation Network on 27th or 28th August will receive a full refund and will be able to find the funds in their wallet as soon as this is processed.
In addition, the entitlements of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Standard Edition or Collector’s Edition will be reset and the title will appear again in the download list.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.
I don’t wish to single out Square Enix as many have used the “we didn’t expect this many people to buy the game” excuse recently (looking at you, Sim City) but this is becoming rather tiresome.
