Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter HD Announced

Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter HD is a sequel to Carnivores, a PC based dinosaur hunting simulator and it will be landing on the PSN in the U.S. next week with a release in Europe later this year.

To be honest I’m not a fan of hunting games as they usually involve shooting bears, so it’s nice to see Vogster Online have added a little plot to the game to calm the nerves of the tree hugging snuggly bunny types.

Set in the near future when interstellar travel possible, a world very similar to Earth circa the Jurassic period has been discovered. The planet has many islands populated with wild animals which conveniently look just like Earth’s long extinct dinosaurs.

In case you still feel a little queasy about murdering helpless T-Rex, you can use tranquilizer darts rather than bullets. You can also use a crossbow and the game has full support for PlayStation Move.

According to the PR blurb the game has huge realistic islands with varied environments including beaches, jungles, forests, flower glades, rocky plains and swamps. The dinosaurs will have realistic AI and react to visuals, sounds and smell and dinosaurs’ senses differ from species to species and also depend on time of day, weather and environment.

    Everybody kill the dinosaur

    sorry just had to lol

  2. So what do you actually do… just wonder about shooting dinosaurs? As cool as that sounds I think it would get old pretty fast.

I wish someone would make an open world game with dinosaurs and a great plot. Like Far Cry 3 with dinosaurs. There aren’t enough dinosaurs in games these days.
