Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Sells Over One Million Units

During an interview at Gamescom ,Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot discussed the company’s plans for the future, including its digital publishing strategy and their recent “mini-AAA” titles, Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

Regarding sales Guillemot said Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon downloads have exceeded “more than a million units”, and suggested a boxed version of the game might be coming to retail in the future.

When asked if digital releases such as these would become a staple of Ubisoft’s publishing strategy moving forwards, Guillemot affirms that “more digital sales means that you can come with games that are smaller in size, but bigger in innovation…you will see more and more of those in future”.

Earlier today Ubisoft announced more digital titles including Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD, Child Of Light and Valiant Hearts.

  1. It was such a breath of fresh air, as well as being very funny, good visuals and bringing nostalgia to some people who grew up in the 80’s,90’s. I’m not surprised by the success.

  9. Never actually got around too this. Too many games not enough time. Might give it a quick go if i can put GTA down after it comes out.
