Podcast: Episode 113 GTA V, Blackout and Dinosaurs

This week’s podcast saw a full roster of regular hosts return. We spent some time with the news, including the sad passing of Hiroshi Yamauchi, the happier news of GTA V’s sales success and the mysterious news that there’s a new game coming from “Team Gravity”. That’ll be Gravity Rush 2 then, won’t it?

We had a bit of a chat about Grand Theft Auto V. Basically, we said it’s a bit good, even although it’s making Lewis sick (and not in the Daily Mail “Ban This Sick Filth” kind of way). Then Kris rattled on about something with Dinosaurs in it that’s on PSN. Then Lewis told us about a feature length drama that aired recently on Channel 4 called Blackout and Kev talked us through a new game development experiment he’s taking part in (and you can too).

  • You can also tag your questions on Twitter with #tsacast and, provided you’re not on a private account, we’ll see them in our search each week. Finally, as usual, there’s a questions thread, set up by the wonderful Motalla, in the forum.

This podcast features strong language, jokes in poor taste and adult themes, if you’re offended by that then we recommend that you don’t listen to it at all.

  1. Thanks for mock-u-mentry fellas ;-) Lewis swedish accent sounds italian to me.

  2. I meant Kev ofcourse.

  3. That song snippet was Tank! by the Seatbelts, the opening theme from Cowboy Bebop. It might be from Shenmue too, but it was definitely written by Yoko Kanno for Bebop.

    • I knew it! This is the opening of the anime series Cowboy Bebop. The best anime series of all time and with the best OST created for any series, movies, anything. The music in Cowboy bebop was purely epic.

      • Yoko Kanno is always amazing. The Ghost in the Shell TV series soundtracks are hers too, and her work for Kids on the Slope actually made me like jazz.

If you watch the live video of Tank! on youtube, she is the one playing the keys.

  4. Well done crew, very nice podcast. Had a great time listening.

Congratulations to Rockstar Games. The GTAV launch couldn’t go any better and on top of that, it looks like (because I did not play it) the game is a real blast in the industry.
