You’re going to have to bear with me on this one as I have never played FIFA, have no idea how football works and the rest of the staff are away or gallivanting towards the Eurogamer Expo. One day someone will release a Kylie game and I’ll be in my element, but until then, let’s try and work this one out together.
So the news is that FIFA 14 has already received a small day-one patch which EA say “addresses stability issues found in the closed beta and minor fixes to a couple game mode (Skill Games, Creation Centre) items.”
EA strongly recommended you download this patch before you play as this will “enhance stability when matching up with other players online who have accepted the update.”
That all sounds like an RPG, I understand that bit. Hey, this might not be as hard as I thought.
“Our commitment to improve FIFA 14 is on-going, and regular feedback from our fans helps us prioritize and identify future improvements,” say EA, “We got some great feedback on gameplay during the demo and early access period.”
Apparently they are looking in to the following:
- The effectiveness of headers from corner kicks and crosses.
- The effectiveness of finesse shots.
- The accuracy of lofted through-balls.
I have no idea what they are, but let’s continue with the RPG idea. Headers from crosses obviously relates to some sort of Monk class, finesse shots must be something do with archers and lofted through balls are… er… I have no idea. Maybe some sort of ballista type weapon?
EA also say they are aware that some users are experiencing freezes during the game and are investigating the problem.
There, I think I’ve explained that quite well. Easy this football stuff, innit?
