Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag DLC Won’t Be Available On Wii U

Ubisoft recently announced their plans for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag DLC, and the associated Season Pass. The content all sounds rather fun, which is unfortunate – for Nintendo gamers at least – as Ubisoft have since clarified a notable omission from their original announcement.

“There will be no DLC for the Wii U version”. Oh dear.

The exact reasoning for the lack of Black Flag DLC on Wii U is unknown, but it’s worth pointing out the previous Assassin’s Creed outing did receive Wii U DLC, albeit slightly after other formats.

This revelation leaves it unclear as to whether future Ubisoft titles, such as Watch Dogs, will be supported by the company post-release.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is still expected to release on the Wii U – alongside PS3 and Xbox 360, on October 29th. The game’s PC version is due into port November 19th, and next-gen (PS4, Xbox One) releases will follow shortly after, on their respective console launch dates.

  1. Poor show, but at least Ubisoft is releasing games for the system.
