Community Chronicle: 13/10/13

I’m not really sure how to open up this week’s Chronicle, so I’m going to fall back to an old favourite of mine, and talk about Formula 1. Wasn’t it quite a sweet little moment to see Mark Webber take his first pole of the year, with Vettel’s slightly hampered car off the pace just by a fraction, in Suzuka?

Of course, I’m writing this before the race, but I will use my innate psychic powers to look into the future and predict that the two Red Bulls will run away with it. Then we’ll have an exciting race for the final podium place, with Alonso and Raikkonen cleaving their way through the field after snappy starts and good tactical racing. Fingers crossed for another excellent outing from Hulkenburg, too. Get that man a faster car!

After last week’s blank space, Airiaen stepped up to the plate, to share his PC.

I answer your sadness and grief at getting no gaming photos, with this rig. It’s very old, however I’ll soon have a nice white build with a Bitfenix Shinobi shell.

The cat is not part of the rig, I guess, but it’s just there.

The photo was taken with my PS Vita, so it won’t be the best quality, and that’s not included.

Curiously, I don’t see a mouse anywhere on that desk…

Of course, I have once again run out of submissions. So please use the submission form below, get in touch with me on Twitter at @teflon, or just send me an email out of the blue to [email protected]. Pretty please?

So, while I’ve been hacking and slashing away at Viking faces, and generally getting cleft in twain by axes, what have you lot been up to?

Well it would seem like Grand Theft Auto Online has been getting plenty of playtime, when it isn’t being awkward and deleting characters, but there are still people working through the single player. R1MJAW finished off the main story, and has been churning through the various collection tasks, for example, and hornet1990 has been staying away from the online altogether, just in case it corrupts his save. Instead he finished off Black Ops 2… but didn’t enjoy it much.

Away from this we have Youles, who has earned his platinum trophies from both The Walking Dead on Vita and God of War: Ascension. Coming up on his play list is Lone Survivor, which Greg Turner finished off the other day too.

DavidSmythe popped up in the fastest platinum thread, to lay claim to both PES 2010 and Buzz Quiz World, which are both definitely stealing records away from someone else, having been won back in 2010! We also have Parryman, who has taken the record for Lego Legends of Chima.

Germanos drove to victory time and again, on his way to the MotorStorm: Apocalypse platinum, but Starman rounds us out this farily subdued week, reaching his 5000th trophy and taking the 27th platinum from MotoGP 13 on PS Vita. Good job!

We’re nearly done, but you can head over to page two for the full trophy leaderboards. To finish off this page, we have the usual submission form for photos and accomplishments.

  1. There’s no mouse and a cat with a satisfied look on its face. There’s your answer.

  2. Not a bad prediction for the race result, not quite runaway but top three cars spot on (albeit Kimi’s team mate taking bronze).
Very agile computer table on display btw, very similar to my DFGT wheel mount! :P

    • Yup. I thought I did quite well for myself, by regurgitating the basic formula for the last few races. ;-)

Shame Grosjean or Webber couldn’t win it, though. Grosjean in particular drove an excellent race, but just didn’t quite have the pace to combat a two-pronged strategic attack from the RBR boys!

    • Yeah, strange how some drivers can up their game around this stage in the season with next years driver merry-go-round in full swing, Grosjean in particular showing great improvement in his driving for the last few races, word hasn’t filtered through to Chilton yet though!
I too would have liked to have seen Webber win the race, a trooper to the end!

  3. wel it’s been a while since i’ve been playing games but now that i’m having some serious health issues and don’t have to work for the time being’i’ve come back again to playing and boy are there some amazing games this year. finished grand theft auto 5 single player this week and also completed Beyond: Two Souls. not the platinum yet but that will come, i think that’s the most amazing game i have ever played.
