Marvel has announced that a video game tie-in for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will launch ahead of its cinematic debut.
Confirmed at this year’s New York Comic-Con, the game is slated for a Spring 2014 release and will be coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and Windows PC, as well as next-gen platforms.
The title is being developed by Beenox, the same Activision-owned studio that has been working on the Spidey license since Shattered Dimensions.
According to initial reports, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will pick-up after the events of the original tie-in. Though not canon to the film series, the sequel will include a number of key set pieces and events from the second film.
Beenox is also working to improve the game’s open-world experience and has even talked about adding RPG-like elements.
A new “Hero or Menace” system is also on the table, rewarding/penalising players depending on their actions.
There’s no word on a Vita release as of yet. Activision only recently announced a Vita version of the first Amazing Spider-Man which is due to launch next month.

I enjoyed the first one (I’m a huge spidey fan) so hopefully this will be even better :-)
