There has been some confusion regarding the Xbox One (again), this time in regards to it’s ability to run Windows 8 apps.
Over the weekend Engadget spotted a product listing for a PC which included the following text:
With all your favourite Windows 8 apps able to be run on and synced to your Xbox One, now your phone, desktop, tablet and TV can all give you a unified web and entertainment experience.
Some took this to mean that all Windows 8 apps would work on the Xbox One, however console giant has now dismissed this notion.
“The suggestion that all Windows 8 apps run on Xbox One is not accurate,” said a Microsoft spokesperson.
If Microsoft can get apps to work on both systems then it could be a real boost for the Xbox One, assuming they can lure developers away from iOS and Android to the Windows Marketplace.

WindowsRT apps, and if you have seen the dire state of WindowsRT store, you will know how much non-news this is. The store is even worse than Windows Phone store, if that’s even possible.
