Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin has confirmed, via the twitlonger service that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be running at a higher resolution on PS4, as it runs at 1080p natively, while the Xbox One version will be upscaled to 1080p from a 720p resolution.

There’s no reason for the difference, other than Rubin saying that they “optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both”, so it likely wasn’t reaching 60 frames per second with the Xbox One version at 1080p.
Hopefully this doesn’t continue into the next generation – I’d expect all games to support 1080p natively, as that’s something this generation should have overcome.

Well I’m glad they are pushing each console to its best. What is more worrying is that the PS4 footage shown so far looks absolutely terrible, even worst than the early versions of COD.

i really don’t care much about which version looks better, but i can’t wait to see how ms try to spin this as a positive for the X1. ^_^

Whilst on the 1 hand this and BF4 are showing a reversal of the way things panned out last generation, with ‘key’ multi-platform games, initally at least running at a higher resolution on PS4…i really don’t think it’ll have that much impact.
We’ve yet to see how Sony’s servers stand up for online play, where as MS infastructure i’m sure will be improved even further (I own both PS3/360 and for downloads+Stable connections, XBL beats PSN hands down, but then i’m paying for 1, not the other, this gen…..).
Pretty sure it goes without saying MS will just lock down the DLC to being released on Xbox One 1st and PS4 getting it few months after.
Still nice to see after the mistakes Sony made with PS3 hardware (limited Ram for starters) lessons clearly been learned and developers tapping into the hardware potential from day 1-The thought of another generation of games running on Sony platform being poor compared to the Xbox platform (and yes i was a PS3 Orange Box, Fallout 3 owner for starters), did not bode well.

Surprised CODoggy is even in 1080p.
