GTA Online Update 1.05 & Stimulus Package Releasing Next Week

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto Online hasn’t been without its problems, from connection issues to players losing their characters, the online portion of GTA V has had a troubled launch. The developer has been hard at work trying to fix the issues and has announced that update 1.05 will release early next week.

Today Rockstar announced update 1.05, which will address the issue of player progression loss and, should the rollout be successful, it will be followed by the GTA$ Stimulus Package by the end of next week. The Stimulus Package will gift all players $500,000 in two $250,000 deposits, directly into the in game bank accounts. The Stimulus Package was originally announced to be for anyone who had accessed GTA Online during the month of October.

Earlier this week the first bit of additional online content was announced with the Beach Bum pack, which will add extra vehicles and weapons.

  1. Earning 250K in game isn’t that difficult, though the bonus cash is a nice gesture, it is a shame any kind of compensation is needed at all. Games as big as GTA are not immune to server / connection issues at launch facing high demand and the comments R* received have been quite nasty. These kind of online experiences on consoles are still fairly new and unpredictable, and it will take much more experience before (if ever) we see a flawless launch.
