Microsoft have released a twelve minute trailer of the Xbox One dashboard ahead of the consoles launch later this month.
The video, presented by Marc Whitten and Yusuf Mehdi, is a walkthrough of the features for the console including instant switching, biometric sign-in, Live TV, Skype and the game DVR.
Microsoft have also listed their media partners which are:
- 4oD
- Amazon\LoveFilm
- Blinkbox
- Crackle
- Demand 5
- Eurosport
- Machinima
- MUZU TV
- Netflix
- NOW TV
- TED
- Twitch
- Wuaki.tv
VG247 are reports that these will be “launching alongside Xbox One on November 22”, and yet Netflix, BlinkBox, LoveFilm and NowTV have told us they had no confirmed plans for the device.
It is also Interesting that ITV and BBC, which are the two biggest channels in the U.K., are missing.
Someone is giving out the wrong message, a common occurance today.
UPDATE: It appears like our information is correct
@Tuffcub Hi Tuffclub, sorry – at this point we don't have any details or timeframes about the release of NOWTV on Xbox One.

Where is the emotion control though. I understand the PS4 will have this kind of voice control too.

I’m sure BBC have but I don’t think 4OD has been confirmed for the PS4 yet which I wouldn’t mind having but I’m assuming it will be otherwise MS would probably have mentioned some kind of exclusivity.

All very smooth of course but I’m sure my wife would have left me by now if I was that indecisive! If I fire up a game, its to play a game, not bring up Skype, then Netflix, then the Movie Maker, then Friends, then back to game, then watch some TV, then back to Netflix, etc, etc.
I’m very much looking forward to my X1 but I don’t see the appeal of this quick-switching stuff.

I must admit I am a lot more impressed with this than I thought I would be. I think Sony will struggle to come up with anything that good (which is a shame as I have a PS4 pre-ordered)

What do you need to do, to get into Tuffclub?!

The first rule of TuffClub is: You do not talk about TuffClub
bunimomike
Probably not talk about it.

If the web browser is ok then it could potentially run things like BBC iplayer through that. I actually found youtube worked better through the browser on 360 than the dedicated app did.

This confirms that I’m right with my selection. Way too much going on for me. Why would you also want Kinect camera to following you in a living room? Just a pointless addition.
I wonder what the games are like on the system? Oh thats right, we don’t know.

This. I’ve already got so many ways to do all the things that the XB1 is trying to do. I just want a Gaming Console that will play amazing games for the next 5 years…

720p… Thats unfortunate. If all the games were going to be like Atari’s 1986 skateboarding classic 720° I’d buy an Xbone.

Hi TC, just to point out that vg247 says “launching alongside Xbox One on November 22 and beyond.”, so that must mean that they won’t all be available at launch.
TSBonyman
I thought it was a list of media apps available at launch but VG247 actually says this stuff is “coming between November 22 and Spring 2014”.
