Various PSN users across the internet are reporting that their sign-in details aren’t working correctly, leaving them locked out of PSN due to incorrect details.
This has naturally worried some people, assuming that their details may have been compromised, with one poster on the PSN Support forums saying that their reaction was that they’ve “been hacked and someone’s changed the details” but realised they hadn’t received a standard changed details email.
Twitter users are also reporting that they’re unable to sign in with their details, and this has been continuing on for quite a while it seems. Thankfully, a solution appears to have been found.
On the same thread in the support forum, an online support co-ordinator has revealed that it’s a simple case of clicking “forgotten password” and resetting through there, as a “small number” of users have had their password reset, though in our small circle at least the issue seems to be quite widespread. You can also reset your password through the Sony Entertainment Network website.
It doesn’t appear as though there’s anything to worry about, as it was done as “purely as precautionary measure and there was no specific evidence that any accounts had be compromised” although it appears the passwords were reset due to some “irregular activity” on the network.

Mine was fine until 11pm. Went to send a message on my vita at 11.20pm and couldn’t sign in.
Very suspect.

Just tried to sign in on my Vita and got the ‘incorrect email or password’ error, reset password via browser, all sorted.
Seems very odd that they’ve randomly reset some people’s passwords and not others.
I’ve also just signed out and back in on my PS3 to make sure my password was fine and it’s taking absolutely ages to populate my friends list.

Mine’s fine.
Feel a bit left out, to be honest.

I wonder if it’s to do with password age, if someone’s changed their password recently, you might be fine, but if you’ve not changed it since the PSN hack when everyone needed to change their passwords, they may have specifically expired them.

I was on PS3 and Vita last night on this account until 6am no issues been on all day on PS3 and signed in to vita topped up and bought tearaway on this account no issues,Tried my other account came up with email or password wrong as Blarty says I think this may be a security measure due to the age of your account or how recent you changed your password,as I know some company’s get you to change your passwords on a regular basis and this PSN account is only a few months old hence why I don’t think I’ve had the request.

I was signed in today until about 6pm. Then signed on just now and faced the problem with a quick password change. I guess its about time I changed it anyway!

Same here, wasn’t as easily fixed though. Had it with my second, PS+ account and as I’ve found out, I had not given it my proper birth date. So I just spent about an hour figuring this out. Thanks, Sony. (Have a vita, but my password wasn’t too old.)

Did not happen to my first account, means it’s about the Vita, or PS+, or…?

Just changed my password anyway, just in case… :/

It just happened to me. I was on after midnight last night and all was fine. I accidentally clicked Music Unlimited and noticed it wouldn’t log me in.
