UK Charts 09/12/13: Ghosts Back On Top, Gran Turismo 6 Falters

Gran Turismo 6 made eighth place on the all formats chart this week despite being the only major new release. The game only managed 1/5th of the first week sales of its predecessor, Gran Turismo 5.

The top five is the usual mix of FIFA, CoD, Battlefield, Creed and GTA and it is Call of Duty: Ghosts that nabs the top spot this week with FIFA 14 in second place. Further down the chart Killzone Shadow Fall drops to ninth, which is not to bad considering most people picked it up with their PS4, whilst Knack is down at 18th place, still managing to sell more than Wii U exclusive, Super Mario 3D World.

  1. I’m torn between buying gt6 tonight, or waiting for a new year price drop.

  2. And people kept saying GT6 will completely overshadow the PS4 release.
    So much for that…

  3. Those with PS4 are far too engrossed in their new machine and next gen games to be concerned about GT6 at the mo… Once people have finished with their new games and are looking for something else to do while waiting for the likes of 2nd Son and Watchdogs they’ll happily pick up GT6 I reckon. I know I will be :-)

    • This is the only GT game I haven’t got at launch as I’m enjoying the PS4. Was thinking I may pick it up early next year but with Driveclub and Watchdogs to keep me busy I may wait for GT7.
Always thought it was a strange time to release it so soon after the PS4’s launch.

  4. The notion of having a game like Gran Turismo is fine. Sales show that. However, how it’s delivered and built (as a game) then incorporated into the life-cycle of a console, is atrocious at best.
