January PS Plus: Borderlands 2, DmC, Don’t Starve And Soul Sacrifice

The January PS Plus content has been revealed and it’s a rather large bunch of awesomeness, beginning with critically acclaimed role-playing shooter, Borderlands 2.

Joining that will be the rebooted DmC: Devil May Cry, one of the few games that I have finished this year, whilst those with a PlayStation 4 will get gorgeous indie hit Don’t Starve from Klei Entertainment.

Set in a world of science and magic, Don’t Starve is a wilderness survival game where you play as Wilson an intrepid gentleman scientist who is trapped by a demon and transported into this dark and mysterious world. You must learn to exploit the environment and the inhabitants you will encounter if you want to have any chance of getting back home.

PlayStation Vita owners rejoice, the game you have been waiting to hit PS Plus has arrived: Soul Sacrifice is your game of the month for January.

Joining that will Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend, the latest title in the franchise. This version offers “the most substantial BlazBlue experience to date” and includes all previous DLC characters as standard, the Calamity Trigger & Continuum Shift stories as well as brand new game modes, new stories and new characters.

In summary:

Leaving PS Plus:

  • 24th December: Grid 2
  • 24th December: Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen

  • 8th January: Contrast

  1. Thrilled to hear about Borderlands 2. I can’t wait to play it though technically I won’t be able to until I get back in January.

Already have both of the Vita games, though I’ll look forward to playing BlazBlue online again seeing as it should have some life back in it. I can sell the disk version too.

Hmm come to think of it, I wonder who would be up for some Borderlands 2 meets.

  2. Nice update but this is the first time I’ve already owned all the PS3 content up for grabs… Guess my bandwidth will be getting a rest this month! Borderlands 2 is a fairly straightforward platinum for those tempted and a bloody good game to boot!

I suppose we’ve got a bit of a wait til we get full retail PS4 games on PS+ then? Shame… Not surprising considering its infancy but a shame nonetheless.

  3. That’s one great update. I pretty much put my Ps3 in redundancy but with Borderlands 2 I know it’s going to get some use.

  4. Don’t Starve doesn’t really look like my type of game but seeming it’s on my new toy I’m gonna give it a go. At the moment I’m more worried about dying of thirst as the bacon sandwich I ate this morning has left my throat growing fluff – luckily I’ve got 10mins ’til I can grab some lunch.
What’s going on with the picture on the preview of the PS+ January video? Looks like some kind of dodgy porn clip lol
Unfortuntely the work internet connection is dyer today so I can’t watch videos.

  5. Great, I haven’t played any of the games… 5 Games for Christmas!

    I love PS+!

  6. Probably just Don’t Starve for me but i’ll still have plenty to keep me going.

  7. What a great month,I’m glad I held off buying DMC and Soul Sacrifice :-)
Looking forward to getting stuck in.

  8. Although I didn’t enjoy the Soul Sacrifice demo I’m willing to give the game another chance. Dunno about Blazblue though o_O

  9. well, i got Borderlands 2 for 12 quid at Asda, but it’s a good game for anybody who doesn’t have it yet.

DMC, bit meh, but as part of my sub i’ll give it a go.

Soul Sacrifice looks interesting, bloody weird but interesting.

tried the demo, just what where the game designers smoking when they made that game?

not a big fan of one on one fighters any more, so Blazblue,s meh, but if i can spare the space at some point i might try it.

  10. Great selection of games. Already own BL2 and SS but looking forward to DMC and DS. That’s a lot of abbreviations.

What’s happening with the vita yearly update that was due? And are we just getting one ps4 psn game each month?
