Child Of Light Aims To Shine On April 30th

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Child Of Light and in it confirms that the game will be releasing on April 30th, with the confirmed platforms being PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC. Child Of Light is a 2D RPG with turn based combat as well as over 200 skills to unlock to strengthen Aurora, the protagonist, as well as over 600 crafting options to help in the battle against The Black Queen, who has stolen the Sun, Moon and stars.

The game itself uses the Ubi Art Framework engine which has shown to create some fantastic looking games, such as Rayman Origins and Legends. A few months back Stefan got to check out Child Of Light which you can read here, and he points out some of the design choices that Ubisoft made like very little voice work with much of story being told through text instead. It’s looking like a very interesting game.

  1. This looks utterly tremendous. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

  2. Fresh…. Colour me interested!

  3. And it looks like it’s coming at a decent price too.

A gorgeous looking, turn-based RPG? For the PS4? A console sadly lacking in RPGs, turn-based or otherwise? Can’t really not buy it, can I?

Although I _have_ just managed to get to the 8-bit musical levels in Rayman Legends, so I currently hate anything to do with that fancy Ubi Art engine.

  4. I absolutely love how it looks. I’m sold.

  5. Agree with everyone else. Very appealing to the eye!

  6. Looking forward to this. Not sure if I should get it on ps3 or wait until I one day have a ps4 and get the shinier version.

  7. Yep, will probably buy this one. Looks great.

  8. When it was stated 30th of April I was thinking PS+ game? But now I know it’s UniSoft I’m thinking not on release but maybe so define later in the year or next year. So I think I’ll hold off from buying. It does look good though.

  9. Day one. No excuses.

  10. Wish they’d bring it to the Vita.
