Not much to go on then but that has not stopped the TSA staff putting their heads together and making some purely speculative guesses based on rumours, the direction of the wind and the price of cheese.
Adam went for Grand Theft Auto V, with a PC version almost certain then porting to the PS4 should not prove too much of a problem. Sony Santa Monica has yet to produce an original PS4 game so I am going to gamble on a rebooted God of War, without shouty and unlikable Kratos.
Aran suggested Medievil, which I presume was a joke, and then more sensibly, Wipeout. Teffers took a punt on LittleBig Planet whilst our esteemed editor Blair, the man who runs the whole joint, suggested.. Super Rub’a’Dub 2.
Apparently there is something big being revealed at 2pm today, “the biggest news of the year”, I have no idea what it is but it may be related to this news.
What do you think the series may be? Remember, it is “of massive significance” so it is not going to be Crash Bandicoot.

I think it’s Doom. In defense of Crash though, who’s to say what Playstation would have done without their mascot in the early days.

I’d argue that for something to be labelled as significant it can only be done so in retrospect. It’s quite rare that things are labelled as significant at the time of their appearance, and for this to be a series of significance I’d say, if the statement is accurate, it has to be a series that has been established over time to be classified as such.
Which is why I think it’s Doom. It hasn’t been significant recently, but the series in general has been hugely so.
I also fully expect it to just be hyperbole on the part of OPSM.
