The PlayStation Blog for Hong Kong has finally confirmed what we all expected: Dead Nation is coming to PlayStation 4. Housemarque’s top-down zombie shooter has been unveiled as the free PS4 game on PS Plus in Hong Kong from March 6th.
It’s not entirely clear if this is a simple port of the PS3 versions of the game or if there will be something added for PS4. Perhaps the Road to Devestation DLC is included from the start? It’s also unclear whether this is a version of the game that includes the Vita version announced at E3 as a Cross Buy element or if it’s an entirely separate project and the Vita version is still to come.
There’s no confirmation on when we’ll see it in the EU or US Stores, or whether it will be included in our own PS Plus Instant Game Collections but appearing on the Hong Kong list is a strong indication that those previous rumours about it were true.

Awesome, my friend and I were looking for a game to play co-operatively. Seems a good fit and we missed it on PS3.

It’s a really, really good game imho, and I chuffed I’ll have a valid excuse to revisit. Hope it’s as crisp and gorgeous on the PS4 as I imagine it can be

*I’m* chuffed. Damn you, manual correct.

Nice one, this should be fun. Will make for a good game in the PS+ competition as well I reckon!
Youles
Good news as it’s fantastic game – and the DLC is really good. It’s a rather unique take on a challenge/horde mode.
I’d love to see something new added like 4-player co-op (although doubtful since there are only 2 characters).
My only concern is that I may have to play it again on the Hardest setting, which was rather brutal. Much easier solo though as you can save and quit…to return to the frustration later!
Lyts1985
You completed it on the hardest difficulty? Wow, hats off to you sir, I’m struggling on Grim!
Kitch
I’ll play through this again. Many an hour wasted and with better connection it’ll be great.

As fun is this game is I think it’s a bit lame to release an old game like this. I forked out £450 on release day for new titles, not ones that have already been circulated by Sony FOC on my former console!
tonycawley
We all forked out the money and while we may be disappointed by the lack of titles coming out, we did fork out that money in the knowledge of what the release schedule was. 5 minutes if research before forking out that money would have shown there weren’t many games at all coming in the first few months.

they still haven’t announced the march Plus content for Europe yet have they?
SamBeThyName
They think it might be Tomb Raider and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons for PS3, Dead Nation for PS4 and Smart As and Pixeljunk Monsters for Vita.

Porting a 4 year old psn game? Scraping the barrel.
DJ Judas
Scraping the barrel would be porting Pain, Dead Nation is awesome and was held back graphically by the ps3. If the port is 1080p and 60fps it will be even lovelier than before.
Starman
Held back graphically really? It was a simple top down shooter. They could make all the zombies look amazing but it wouldn’t be noticeable as its zoomed out anyway.

Hey…PAIN is one of the best PSN games there is! In fact, it is being redeveloped!

I recall it juddering to a halt at times when there was a lot on screen, could just have been my perception of it. Regardless, I’m looking forward to playing through it on PS4; a nice stopgap until infamous.

That barrel must have had something really good in it then.

This really is a great game, and I am sure it aged well, especially if redone on new hardware. There’s not many games that got me hooked enough to make it to platinum, but this was one of them.

Well I’ve got a mate that’s moved over from the 360 and I just so happened to be telling him about this game when Resogun first came out. He’ll be well happy.
I loved it on the PS3 and will love it just as much again.
I do think some folks are getting a bit too ridiculous with regards to the free games on offer. They’re free – quit complaining! You’re not going to get the AAA titles until waaaaay down the line, we’re only a few months in for gods sake!
Also… kinda related topic.. Helldivers looks equally epic :D
boeboe
Well you do pay for PS Plus with the expectation of games.
The problem is the level of expectation people have. And basing it off past weeks/different systems. Also depends on how much you buy into the idea of paying to play online with Playstation. Its going to lead to the ‘value’ part to be different for everyone. Its a bit of a lucky dip and I like lucky dips, though I wasn’t a huge fan of Dean Nation so a bit disappointed for this month.

Positive news. I’ll enjoy another play through.
Anyone wanna sign up for co-op with me now…?
