Edd Joseph, a graphic designer from Bristol, spent £80 on a second hand PlayStation 3 via Gumtree but it never arrived. To extract his revenge he has sent the seller 22 plays written by Shakespeare including Macbeth and Othello, and he has sent each play via text message to the sellers phone, almost 18,000 texts.

“It just occurred to me you can copy and paste things from the internet and into a text message,” he told the Bristol Post. The Gumtree seller has responded with abusive texts and phonecalls.

Edd only has to press ‘send’ once per play and his phone then processes each page into individual texts. As he is on unlimited texts and calls package it is not costing him a penny.

“I tried to ask him if he was enjoying the plays, but he was very confused,” Mr Joseph added. “I’m going to keep doing it. If nothing else I’m sharing a little bit of culture with someone who probably doesn’t have much experience of it.”

  7. Has Sledgehammer Games ever made a game of their own before?

    Also, loving the Shakespeare terror.

    • Nope, so what they said will be true as long as they actually ship a game!

I’m interested to see their take on though, after a decade of Treyarch/IW.
