Sony have announced that PS4 sales have reached yet another milestone, with seven million systems sold across the globe. This figure is as of ten days ago, on April 6th 2014, and comes just over a month after Sony announcing that they sold 6 million consoles.
Software sales have also surpassed 20.5 million units, both digital and retail, which equates to around three games per PS4. That figure is by April 13th 2014.
Sid Shuman, social media manager at PlayStation said:
On behalf of the entire global team at PlayStation, I want to thank you for your unprecedented support and for making PS4 your next-generation console of choice. We couldn’t have done this without you! And please keep the feedback coming: we are listening.
He also revealed that they’ll have some new details to share on the 1.7 software update soon. At this rate, it seems as though Sony will reach ten million sales in no time.

Well done, congratulations. It feels good to be part of it, but this is still just the beginning. Wonder whether any of the other consoles got a chance to catch up, currently don’t see how.

And still supply constrained in most regions, unlike dome other consoles that are stacking up in stores unsold….

In before “but where are the games” posts from people who have pretty much no intention of getting a PS4 anyway but apparently have so so many quality games to play on the other console …

Does it count if “the other console” is a PC? Because pretty much all I want to play on a PS4 at the moment is Infamous and I’m not buying one just for that ;p

Is a PC a console? Really?

I’m surprised the average PS4 owner only has 3 games, although the lack of games is exactly what’s making me think again about buying one this summer.
