A rental system has been put in place for the PlayStation Now beta, offering periods of one day, seven days, and thirty days to rent games available on the service. This new addition was revealed through IGN, who took some photos of the rental options screen, as well as listing some more games that have been added to Now, including the re-addition of Puppeteer.
The games that were added, not including Puppeteer are as follows:
- Ben Omniverse 2
- Contrast
- Eat Them!
- FUEL
- GRID
- Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear
- LUMINES: Supernova
- NIGHTS Into Dreams…
- PixelJump Racers 2nd Lap
- PixelJunk Shooter 2
- Retro/Grade
- Sniper Elite V2
The beta is still only available for users in North America while the rest of the world has to wait for the eventual rollout which should be in 2015.

Good to see them opening up all these different options for people, not my sort of service to use but if PS Now is popular then more power to them.

This has the potential to do good business for Sony. If they price this right could be great.

A place where I see this being interesting for me is if I’m having some mates round for some local MP, and I just want to grab a game for the night. As long as local MP is an option.

Hmmm, I would personally prefer to rent title-to title, rather than a netflix type subscription, but having both options would cover all angles and please everyone.
I hope that there’s a trial of at least an hour, and progress+trophies carry over if you choose to rent.

The ‘try before you buy’ concept that Sony talked up so much before launch seems like it’s been forgotten, haven’t heard it mentioned since launch. Same with ‘suspend mode’.
