Bandai Namco Games has announced that Tales Of Hearts R will be launching on European and Autralasia markets this winter on PS Vita. The game itself is a remake and improved version of Tales Of Hearts, which originally released on DS in 2008. This new version includes fully voiced dialogue, two new playable party members, and new scenarios added to the main storyline giving more to do in the game.
The story itself is about Kor Meteor who is given the weapon Soma by his grandfather due to his fighting ability. He is one of the few people who can control Soma due to his high Spiria, which is the source of his will and life. Soon after he finds Kohaku Hearts, who herself is under the control of a witch. Kor tries to free Kohaku but in the process destroys her Spiria Core, and he must find a way to fix it.
Tales Of Hearts R is the first Tales game to appear on the Vita, and should offer a very good JRPG experience if other Tales titles are anything to go by.

This is great news. I’m currently in the process of playing all European Tales releases and this gives me one more.

Any need to play the previous ones?

I believe they’re all separate, apart from the numbered sequels like Xilia 2.

No, the Tales of series is kind of similar to the Final Fantasy one, when it comes to each games story. Like Kennykazey said, only party with sequence numbers like Tales of Xilia and Tales of Xilia 2, have a related story.
