For the first time, in a long time, there’s a genuine air of excitement surrounding the Call of Duty franchise. Though still one of the industry’s most prolific power-sellers, it’s fair to say that Treyarch and Infinity Ward have been kicking around the same formula for a while now.
This year could see huge changes however, with Sledgehammer Games joining the development trio.
What we can learn from the trailer is that Kevin Spacey is making the jump from starring in streamed TV shows on your console to actually starring in a game, and he will no doubt feature very heavily in a story that’s set in a Sci-Fi infused future. Technology has advanced, while PMCs have risen into the dominant force, and will give you gadgets to play with like hover-bikes, jet packs and wall-climbing exosuits.
There’s no sign of multiplayer changes just yet, but with these kinds of technology available to you, the gameplay could let you zip around the maps at a frightening pace, similar in some ways to Titanfall.
Sledgehammer’s debut will land in the traditional early November release slot.

MrJimmy
good job with Spacey. We do need multiplayer footage before we really know what’s what.

First cod I’ve been interested in for a while.

Just when I thought I was out… Roll on November :D
MrJimmy
Yep I thought the same!

Gamestop have it for £45 btw. Not a bad price in comparison to other places (£55). Have just ordered my copy.

Personally I would hold off until the release day supermarket deals, they are consistently the cheapest way to get COD games, usually for around £25 if bought with PSN credit.

That’s a good point. My Xbl and Ps+ dubs run out in January so would be an easy way to renew and save some money on COD at the same time. Then again, with websites like cdkeys selling Xbl for 22quid these days it would have to be a pretty great deal to make it worthwhile

For some reason, everytime I read the title, my mind says: Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter!

Have to admit I’m very intrigued. But then COD trailers always make the game look so much better than it actually is! Loving the exo suits and futuristic gadgets though :) roll on E3 for the inevitable gameplay reveal at MS conference.

Reminds me a little of Crysis. The last Call Of Duty I played was Modern Warfare 3 and that was awful so I’ll still have doubts about this.

House of Cods is genius by the way!

And, worst name of the year goes to…
Bilbo_bobbins
yep I can see this being no different to the others other than some more OP super powers.

Should be interesting, but if its the same multiplayer and boring single player, I can’t be bothered.
