Activision plan for Call of Duty was always very straight forward, release one a year, pile on the DLC and map packs until the next one comes out and then move on. Now they have three teams working on three games all the time the DLC plan now seems to be “What the hell, release what you like.”
Update: Our mistake, we thought these were brand new additions, but are in fact WWII era guns added to the game’s Supply Drop system in 2015-16 being made free. (Thanks, moriarty)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, a game that is two and half years old, is getting new zombie DLC, and now Sledgehammer have revealed that weapons from the upcoming Call of Duty WWII will be dropped in to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which is three and half years old and had it’s last DLC drop in September 2015.
Want a taste of WWII in MP? Each weekend until E3 we'll be giving away a classic WWII weapon within CoD:AW starting Fridays @ 10am PST -xoxo

I would have thought that the WW2 weapons are rather underpowered when fighting enemies in exo suits, so I’m not sure how this is going to work. At least the new weapons will be free.
