This compilation will include R-Type and R-Type II which will include a total of fourteen levels from the original games.  The games have also received a few upgrades and additions including an Infinite mode, which gives unlimited ships,  and also the ability to select which level you want to play through.
As well as these additions you’ll be able to switch between a 2D and 3D camera view for the higher resolution versions, or play the original titles with original graphics. I`ll ‘ave some of that!

Would love to buy it as I owned R-Type DX on Gameboy which had the first two games but don’t see myself playing it much on PS3. Vita on the other hand I’d be far more interested in.

Yes why is this not on vita? I’d be all over it

Same, I had great fun down the arcades playing the original.

Same, this was my first thought.
My PS3 is getting little love at the moment, and I don’t see that changing, but I’d certainly pick this up on Vita for the right price.

Best shooter ever. Apart from Xenon II. Day one for me!

I Loved this game when it first came out it is a shame there is no vita or super HD PS4 version.
I am not a fan of the 3D graphics option though, if you look at the video around 20 seconds in the 3D makes a mockery of the game, why am I flying through a gap when I could just go behind it!

damn i loved that game, i sucked so bad at it, never could get past level 2, but it was still probably the best damn shooter i’ve ever played, so i’m stoked about the infinite mode.
i still want to get the Rtype Tactics game for PSP as well.

Loved this on my SNES, will buy it unless they come up with a ridiculous price :)
