Be Prepared To Wolf Down A 5GB Day One Patch For Wolfenstein: The New Order

Bethesda has released a new trailer for Wolfenstein: The New Order which begins with a German rendition of The Animals’ famous House of The Rising Sun, while a couple of Nazi officers walk among the dead and execute any survivors. It then cuts to the resistance with two of the members, including main protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz, playing a game of one up with injuries. Then we’re treated to various shots of gameplay with lots of guns, and robots. It seems quite off the wall.

As well as this trailer some other news came out that Wolfenstein: The New Order may require a day one 5GB patch for the new gen version, via blogger Mark DeSanto, though it should be playable without installing it.

 

Wolfenstein: The New Order is out next week on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

  1. I must admit with every video i see of this game it becomes more bad ass. I’m extremely tempted to pick this up.

    • After being left disappointed by everything else on the PS4 to date I decided what the hell, looks like a fun, OTT and not trying too hard title and got my order in. Really looking forward to Tuesday now!

    • I believe the installed size is 50gb so no :)

  4. I watched 20 minutes of gameplay this morning on a well known streaming site. Of the first 10 minutes around 8 minutes appeared to be game engine scripted scenes.
    The second 10 minutes involved much more gameplay where our hero was running through trenches and between buildings (always a tight corridor). There must have been a dozen guards and officers all with their backs turned to enable knife take-downs. When gun fire was needed it looked satisfying but the thing that didn’t really sit well with me was the explosions. Whether an explosion was triggered by a full on bomb or a hand grenade, the explosion animation looked decidedly weak, almost last, last gen.

    I’ll give this one a miss.
