Metro Redux Officially Announced, £34.99 For Both Games On Disc

Metro Redux leaked out a few weeks ago and now Deep Silver and 4A Games have made an official announcement, stating that both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light will be coming to next gen consoles this summer.

Metro 2033 has had the biggest upgrade with a tonne of new features:

  • The original game has been rebuilt in the latest and greatest iteration of the 4A Engine, bringing all the graphical and gameplay improvements from Last Light to Metro 2033 Redux
  • Enjoy completely re-mastered visuals: advanced lighting, dynamic weather, more detailed characters with improved animation, more dynamic destruction and improved smoke, fire and particle effects
  • Experience radically improved gameplay: advanced enemy AI, improved combat and stealth mechanics, superior weapon handling and more responsive, intuitive controls plus signature features from Last Light such as the atmospheric ‘mask wipe’ mechanic, weapon customization, and silent kills and takedowns

Metro: Last Light Redux has also been tweaked and includes better graphics, new melee animations, and the fan-requested ‘Check Watch’ and ‘Check Inventory’ features. It will also include all previously released Season Pass DLC which clocks in at around a further 10 hours of gameplay.

Both games will have two modes; ‘Survival’ has limited resources, deadlier enemy AI, and slower reload speeds, much like the original mode in 2033, whilst ‘Spartan’ includes  powerful set of combat skills and more plentiful resources, which is more akin to the gameplay of Last Light.

Now the good news, Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux will each be available separately as a digital downloads for just £15.99. You can also buy both games as a boxed compilation got £34.99. Either way, it’s a bit of a bargain.

The team have also announced that Linux and SteamOS versions will also release later this year.

UPDATE: Deep Silver brand manager, Huw Beynon, has confirmed that the PS4 version of the games will run at 1080p whilst the Xbox One versions run at 900p.

  1. So Ranger mode isn’t extra this time!

Seems like a good deal. I have LL on PS3 but since it’s in the backlog I’ll wait and play it on PS4 for the “superior” version, and play the original first.

  2. I’m very much interested in this. That price is bang on IMO. I’ve held off playing either of them on PS3 since it was first rumored to be making the jump

  3. Crazy good deal for 2 games. Plus 1080/60 I said goddamn!

  4. Well if they’ve enhanced everything like they’ve said, this sounds like one hell of a bargain. I’m in!

  5. Just could not get into last light, but that is great value, especially for upgraded versions.

  6. Good price. Not played either of these, but at that price I’m well up for it.

  7. In glad I avoided last light due to the day one dlc on ranger mode now. Felt a little sad I couldn’t play 2033 on PS3 too, so this rectifies both for a reasonable cost. I’m sure I’ll get it.

  8. Great stuff for PS4 users. 2 great games, greatly enhanced, and costing way less than Tomb Raider’s remaster retail price, and likely TLoU remaster as well. I’m guessing quite a few people haven’t played 2033 which I can vouch for was a super game.

  9. Never played either, wanted to play both, will likely get these individually as digitally downloads thank you very much!

  10. Brilliant series. Easily one of my favourite IPs from last gen.
