UK Charts 30/06/14: Sniper Elite III Shoots To The Top

Three new contenders stepped into the fold this week, Sniper Elite III, Grid Autosport, and Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark. Sniper Elite III managed to score a knockout on EA Sports UFC, pushing it to the third spot and taking number one overall. Grid Autosport crossed the line in seventh spot, and Murdered: Soul Suspect had one of the biggest drops of the week, dropping out of the top 20 from its 13th place last week.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark failed to find its way inside the top 10 in its first week, finishing at number 12, but the top 10 spots are a bit of a tough nut to crack these days with 8 of the titles remaining there from last week.

  1. I intend to get bothwwolfenstein and sniper elite at some point but I don’t view either as £50 games so waiting for a discount or until I’ve finished with watch dogs so I can trade in for them. I’m guessing though by the time I get round to it there will be other games more worthy of my time.

    • Tef and I managed to pick Sniper Elite 3 up for £14.15 (with DLC) but the keys were fraudulent. The supplier is usually rock-solid and has been for years. Our Steam game license was revoked so we’re looking around for a keen price once more. Hopefully Hitler’s gonad will be receiving a high-speed projectile very soon. :-P

Actually, add to this that keyboard and mouse is more accurate and the idea of me playing this on a console makes me sad at the prices. I can’t wait to play on the PS3 (and PS4 which I’ll buy very soon, I feel) but some titles are just eye-gougingly expensive.

      • The PC prices certainly are hilarious compared to the exceedingly high next gen prices. In fact £50 could easily buy both Wolfenstein and SE3 on PS3, let alone leave change if buying on the PC.

Shame to hear about your SE3 issue though. Weren’t the online retailers involved, fixing the issue for all those who were affected?

      • £25 for ps3 in asda mate!

      • Oh, wow. That’s good to know for anyone picking up the console version. PS4, right?

Avenger – they’ve refunded us so we’ll track down something online in the next day or so, I’m sure. Just takes the wind out of your sails a bit when you’ve been looking forward to play it on day of launch (very rare for me) and also co-op (with Teflon).

      • I think that Sniper Elite 3 is one of those games that will have dropped price by alot in a matter of weeks.

And £15 for a new full release game was never going to be right, surely the dev/pub cuts will amount to more than that? I’m surprised the supplier was duped.

      • It’s particularly cheap, isn’t it. Tomb Raider was bought for £22 on launch night so I expected to pay that but the lower cost had me chomping at the bit!

    • Just been in game, wolfenstein for 25 notes if anyone’s interested.

  2. picked up a region 3 copy of wolfenstein for £30
    definitely worth playing.
i am going through it for the second time now looking for the collectables.
you also get to play through on a second characters timeline so cant complain about replay value.

  3. I saw in Asda that Sniper Elite 3 is £25 on the PS3…£40 for the PS4 version…

  4. I fully intend to get Wolfenstein at some point but don’t want to pay full price for it. Only played a little bit of SE3 so far and its pretty good. Will have a proper go at some point this week.

  5. I’ll have to wait a while to pick up Wolfenstein too but Watch Dogs has plenty to keep me going for the moment.

  6. Have to say I’m really enjoying Murdered Soul Suspect. It’s a really off kilter game that’s got so many weird decisions in its production and delivery – but it’s really added to its charm. A bit like Deadly Premonition is a cult classic, I can see this being the same

    • I really enjoyed MSS to. I didn’t read any reviews, but heard it didn’t score well :( Not much replayability to it, but I do hope they’re able to make a sequel as I’d definitely be up for a bit more.

  7. Forrest just seen your post apologies. It’s on ps4.
