Podcast: Episode 146 – Comics, Resogun Heroes and Watch Dogs

If you don’t follow me on Twitter, then you’re probably unaware that it was my birthday last Wednesday. In honour of this fact, my younger brother Carl, host of the Robot Punch Gaming podcast, joined us for this episode. Unfortunately Peter and Kev were both unavailable for the recording, but Carl more than made up for their absence.

Carl’s been playing a lot of Watch Dogs recently, so that’s what he spent most of his time talking about. In a fortunate coincidence, Lewis has also been spending his time in virtual Chicago, so he’s got a fair amount to chip in about Ubisoft’s hacking title. Lewis has also been enjoying Resogun Heroes, even if he has recently experienced some high score related trauma.

Thanks to a question from Andrew Stone, I spent some time talking about DC’s weekly titles, Batman Eternal and Futures End. If you’re wondering, the third title I couldn’t remember the name of is Earth 2: World’s End, and it’ll be launching in October.

Then, of course, there’s a quiz from Lewis (appropriately about siblings), and our answers to your questions.

  • Please send us questions via email to podcasts[at]thesixthaxis.com.

This podcast features strong language, jokes in poor taste and adult themes, if you’re offended by that then we recommend that you don’t listen to it at all.

  1. Kind of ridiculous what is happening in the industry. Soul Suspect was not that bad to have it’s creators be closed ;/ Same thing happened to the guys behind Kingdom of Amalur:Rockoning I think. Studio closed after a fairly good game? Sick.

The motion controls were used in various games for simple controls, like planting a bomb in Killzone, something in Little Big Planet I think…mainly SONY productions.

Thomas Was Alone was a very unique game and I can say for sure that it was very good, but I can understand why Lewis was distracted by all that chatter about it, people praising it all the time etc. Lewis, you should finish it. The story is very nice and it’s fantastic how human blocks can be ^^

The multiplayer in Watch Dogs sounds amazing. A lot of fun.

Lewis the birthday song was perfect. Exactly how I imagined you to sing it xD

Very nice guys. Once again I’m happy to see the podcast at their normal time.

  2. Not that anyone will care but Kris gave the wrong twitter address for my podcast, it’s actually @RbtPunch (no gaming at the end)

Thanks for having me on though guys I really enjoyed it, this is one of the podcasts that got me to make my own so it was nice to appear on here!
