The Last of Us Remastered has again come out in the top spot of this week’s UK charts, the second week in a row it has accomplished this feat. In fact, the top three are all in the same spot they were last week at this time, with Watch Dogs and FIFA 14 finishing in second and third, respectively.
Beyond that, we did see a bit of a change with GTA V charging up from the tenth spot last week to the fourth spot this week, the largest jump of any game inside the top ten. The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft rounds out the top five, with its brother on the PS3 coming in at seven.
1. The Last of Us: Remastered (Sony)
2. Watch Dogs (Ubisoft)
3. FIFA 14 (EA)
4. Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar)
5. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (Microsoft)
6. The LEGO Movie Videogame (Warner)
7. Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition (Sony)
8. Call of Duty: Ghosts (Activision)
9. Battlefield 4 (EA)
10. Sniper Elite 3 (505 Games)
One other interesting note is that the PS3 version of The Last of Us charted inside the top 40 at number 24, whereas last week it wasn’t in the top 40 at all. It seems the hype surrounding the remastered edition may have driven a few to try it out on PS3 for the first time.

That chart is really a reflection of my take on next gen and it’s current release schedule status.
I’ll have waited a year before eventually diving into the bosom of all things shinier….ie. I’ll be picking up a PS4 this coming Autumn when there is substantial evidence available that a next gen console has arrived and warrants a “must buy, don’t try and stop me!”
Until then, PS3 and Vita will provide the bedtime cocoa old school style :P
