It was presumed, thanks to the inclusion of vehicle modes in the trailer, that Angry Birds: Transformers was to be a re-skin of the Angry Birds kart racing game. As you can see from the video below, the game is actually an on the rails shooter rather like the classic Operation Wolf.
I have to admit the game looks gorgeous and Rovio have really gone to town with an 80’s inspired soundtrack. If this came to Vita I would play the hell out of it, although I expect it would cost £30.
What do you think of the latest addition to the Angry Birds franchise?

Looks amazing!

Well, it’s slightly less obnoxious than Bayformers. And it has Astrotrain, which is a plus.
I might give it a go if free, but those falling statues are so clearly ripped straight from Donkey Kong it hurts.

I am not a Minecraft fan and maybe I don’t know the magnitude of how successfull it is but if I were Microsoft I would have rather bought Angry Birds. Just because I can see this franchise evolving and absorbing different themes into itself.

i’m not too sure what to make of this.
looks like it could be good, but then it could also suck.
it has the Operation Wolf shooter element you mentioned, but it also kinda seems like an endless runner, and i’m no fan of those.
something i’m going to have to try before i can really judge.
but i will give it a try, hey, it’s Transformers, the least i’m gonna do is try the game.
and i will probably end up buying some of those telepod things they’ve started doing for the Angry birds games lately, i bought one for the racing game in a pound shop the other day.
it’s neat the way those things work, no NFC or anything, they just have a tiny QR code on the bottom and the trophy stand the toy come with has a little magnifying lens in the bottom and you stick it over the mobile device’s camera.
a Prime and a Megatron if they’re available. ^_^

They lost me the moment Optimus Prime jumped out of Astrotrain.
