The Evil Within has made an impressive debut, not managing to beat the goliath that is FIFA but instead landing just behind it in second place. Borderlands: The Not On Next Generation Consoles Edition drops in at third, while F1 2014 makes a rather disappointing start at number 10.
Driveclub’s dropped down to eighth, while Forza Horizon 2 manages to (just) stay in the top five, and everywhere else is what you’d usually expect to see from the charts. The top 20 is below.

Its nice to see a chart with:
– Multiple new franchises in the top 10. Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, The Evil Within, Alien: Isolation (yes, two of those are build on big IPs but they’re brand new game series), Destiny and Driveclub.
– No Call of Duty titles. I still remember seeing 3-4 CoDs in the charts at once a few years back…

Agreed, nice to see companies taking a chance on new ip rather than the usual safe sequels.

Impressive showing from Evil Within, Capcom should take note after saying people didn’t want survival horror games anymore.

Impressive, have to agree with Spence1115, also impressed with Borderlands despite only on last gen consoles as I thought it might hurt the sales since it is not on current gen, was tempted to get it but had a funny feeling that it could be on PS4 in the future? Shadow of Mordor is my next purchase.
New CoD will be top but it will be interesting to see GTA in the chart

Notch should be proud, billions in the bank and his brainchild projects sitting nicely in the charts. He’s done very well!

If you go by individual formats, the biggest selling game of the week was The Evil Within on PS4, and Driveclub PS3 outsold Forza XBO. Its the old formats that help boost the numbers.
Starman
Forza’s been out longer though. I presume you meant PS4 not 3.
