We reported yesterday that Sony would be having PSN maintenance on Monday evening, right up until the midnight launch of GTA V on PS4. They’re naturally keen to avoid launch issues, with last year’s terrible GTA Online launch and persistent PSN problems.
So, they’ve though long and hard about it and came up with a brilliant solution: the PSN maintenance will now end at 11PM on Monday instead of midnight, hopefully allowing everyone to get online on GTA straight away and apply any of the relevant patches.
If you sign in over the weekend, you’ll still be able to play games online and use third party apps, but from 5PM-11PM UK time, you won’t be able to access the PS Store or account management.
There still may be some additional downtime after the period. Let’s hope that doesn’t affect GTA Online in any way. Oh, or Far Cry 4.
