Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Confirmed, Sam Will Be Your AI Partner

This month’s Game Informer magazine has a scoop on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End which will be partly set in Libertalia, “a mythic Madagascar colony purportedly founded by pirates.”

Nate’s presumed dead brother, Sam, will accompany him on his adventures as an AI partner, in much the same way Ellie helped Joel through The Last of Us. The game is set three years after Uncharted 3 and will feature two new antagonists, Rafe and Nadine, with Sully and Elena also making an appearance.

Artefacts are to return and may also include clues to further treasure, and the maps will have multiple paths which will allow you to sneak past enemies rather than engage in battles.

The trademark Uncharted humour will return so expect plenty of banter between Sam and Nate, although Sam is said to be more reckless than his ‘better-at-everything little brother.’

Also, as the headline reveals, multiplayer will return but no details have been given.

  1. “The trademark Uncharted humour will return so expect plenty of banter between Sam and Nate”… I hope this is more Sam and Al of Quantum Leap humour and not Sam and Derek Acorah of Most Haunted humour.

    • Dear god, what an obscure and (literally) haunting reference. :-)

  2. Rather then have a brother named Sam, I think he should have a sister named Sam… Samantha Fox to be exact. That way she can lure the enemies away by sunbathing topless whilst singing ‘Touch Me’ and any other of the god damn awful songs she sang. Luckily I can’t recall any of more of them.

  3. & there was me thinking that Sam was a Surface to Air Missile.

    • I think I my have shot a Surface to Air Missile once looking at some old Sam Fox Page 3 pics. ;)

  4. Please don’t monetise and ruin the multiplayer like UC3.

Sam… Samson, Samuel, Samba de Amigo?

  5. MORE reckless than Nate?
    how is that even possible?

  6. Just three years after U3? Jesus, where has Nate been hiding, the surface of the sun?
