Square Enix has launched a new trailer today, showcasing the last Final Fantasy XIV update before the arrival of its very first expansion, Heavensward. Patch 2.5, dubbed “Before The Fall”, will be sliced into three parts, each one bolstering the game’s current spread of content with new scenarios, dungeons, and storyline missions as well as a new Primal battle and raid.
Needless to say it’s a big’un with the trailer alone spanning a solid ten minutes. The second part is set to follow soon after in late February, introducing the Manderville Gold Saucer where players can take part in side-activities such as Chocobo racing. The final part will then deploy in March, steering the game’s narrative towards the upcoming expansion.
Announced at last year’s Fan Fest in Las Vegas, Heavensward will give players new areas to explore as well as new jobs, races, and classes while also boosting the level cap to 60 across all playable professions.
