MLB 15 The Show Confirmed To Release On April 1st

San Diego Studio has confirmed that MLB 15 The Show will be releasing on April 1st for PS4, PS3, and Vita. However, those of us who reside in the PAL region will only be able to get the game via digital download. MLB 15 The Show is the first in the franchise which allows players to import their save data from previous games, in this case MLB 14 so you can carry on your career mode with the latest updates.

In MLB 15 The Show updates include a new directional hitting interface, which gives players more control over the direction a ball can go when hit with the bat. Legendary players will also be available within the game, one from each MLB team. Licensed equipment will also be used in game, apart from the Vita version for some reason. Franchise mode has also been updated with General Manager contracts, and players will have to meet owner expectations. These will affect which jobs players can get.

The gameplay has had quite a few tweaks too, and the changes can be seen in the list below.

  • Advanced AI logic results in outfielders taking more realistic routes to the ball

  • Upgraded motion system allows for dynamic speed matching from run to catch to throw

  • User controlled cut offs

  • All new slide and tag system

  • New speed paradigm for fielders and base runners

  • Enhanced ball physics for pop ups, fly balls, and shots into the gap

  • Dynamic pitch breaks: Allows for more realistic pitch recognition when batting

  • Simplified Analog swing controls

  • Dynamic Difficulty 2.0

  • New situational base covering intelligence allows for new animations to play when a player has time or is in a hurry to get to his base

  • More than 70 new situational third out fielding animations

  • New Input Type option for hitting

    • We’ve separated swing input as a separate option

Again these are not present in the Vita version. A gameplay premier will take place on Twitch on February 5th at 10pm GMT. If you want to bookmark the correct channel for that then the link is here.
