New Tron Game Is In Development According To Composer Giorgio Moroder

The future of the Tron series has been kept under wraps by Disney after the release of the Tron: Legacy movie in 2010. A game going by the name Tron: Evolution was also released in the same year, though it was met with some average reviews at the time. Now composer Giorgio Moroder has stated he is working on the soundtrack for a new Tron game, and he isn’t the only one.

“I’m going to meet Skillrex next week when I’m back. I’m doing music for a game for Disney’s Tron. We have about five themes, electronic stuff and let’s see if he’s interested in remixing or re-working one of the songs.”

This could also point to a sign that another Tron movie is on the way, and Skrillex may be involved with that. Tron: Legacy’s soundtrack was composed by Daft Punk, and a producer with a similar sound would be expected for any music in a third installation in the movie franchise.

Disney has not commented on any such game or movie existing, but it d0es sound like some preliminary work is being done at least. Whether that will result in a new addition is dependent on Disney.

  1. Hmmm, odd, did EA pick up more than just the Star Wars license off of Disney?

Any new Tron music has got to be good. Skrillex has a tough act to follow after Daft Punk, but I think it’s quite a good choice, he’s genre-versatile and can make ‘big’ sounds.

    • Yeah, that Daft Punk soundtrack has been amongst my favourite albums since it came out. Look forward to hearing/seeing new Tron stuff though as I absolutely love the world.

  2. Great news be it film, game or both. :)
