Konami have released a joint statement with Hideo Kojima reassuring fans that he is still “100% involved” in the process of finishing and releasing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Konami begin by thanking customers for their continued patronage of Konami products and services before moving on to reiterate that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will release as planned on Tuesday 1st September in the west, with the game releasing a day later in Japan and Asia.
As for Hideo Kojimas involvement, Kojima himself stated “I want to reassure fans that I am 100% involved and will continue working on METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN; I’m determined to make it the greatest game I’ve directed to date. Don’t miss it!”
Konami are also keen to stress that they are committed to developing and distributing top quality content in the Metal Gear series once MGSV has released. Hopefully fans can rest a bit more easy now, although it is almost certain that this isn’t the last we have heard from the Konami/Kojima saga.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases 1st September on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC.
