PC Edition Of Batman: Arkham Knight To Be Digital Only In UK

Following some rumours earlier this week Warner Bros. Interactive has confirmed that the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight will be released digitally only. At the moment retailers still have physical editions up for sale, and if you are thinking of pre-ordering one of those then don’t. If you already have then it would be best to cancel that order. The confirmation was made to Videogamer earlier.

“Batman: Arkham Knight will be available as both a physical and digital release for PS4, Xbox One and PC. In the UK, PC will be available as a digital release only.”

While reasons weren’t given why there wouldn’t be a physical release the most likely would be cost. Very few retailers have large, dedicated sections in stores for PC games with the rise of digital meeting the market demand. Warner Bros may have found that the investment in printing the PC discs just would not have been worth carrying out, at least for the UK market.

  1. I think lots would buy it digitally anyway

  2. Makes sense, the digital market is a lot bigger on PC than on consoles.. The last game I bought physically on PC, was Skyrim. And that had a Steam key in it along with the disc, so the disc never even got used.

Do people buy physical PC games anymore?
