Community Round-Up: 30/05/15

It’s been a busy week at TSA towers. A generous handful of reviews means there’s more than enough for you to get through today if you missed any during the week. So, without any further ado,  let’s begin this week’s Community Round-Up!

Looking at the Meets, Monday will see the Project Cars meet, followed by Battlefield on Friday, with a few GTA V Heists meets thrown in also.

If you’d rather play something else, you can add your own Meet to the list, provided you have more than 250 TSA Points.

There were no previews this week, so let’s dive straight into the reviews. Blair called Splatoon, our joint-high scorer, “incredibly fun to play” and with loads of content too, it was worthy of an 8/10. Also on an 8/10 from Dom was Spy Chameleon, a “fun and engaging puzzler”, only let down by its short length.

Next up we had two games sitting on 7/10’s. Episode 4 of Telltales’ Game of Thrones is an improvement, but still shows the series is lacking in comparison to Telltales’ other stories. Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed sounds like one for anime fans who want to play something on Vita, as it has good combat and witty humour.

Jim described Fossil Fighters Frontline as close to being a Pokémon clone, but with “genuine attempts to spice up the JRPG blueprint with vehicles, mini-games, and other interesting features”. Sadly, this isn’t enough to escape its 5/10 score. Meanwhile, at the bottom of the pile was Farming Simulator 15. It seems the game simply hasn’t transitioned well to consoles from PC, and sits on a measly 4/10.

There were a few unscored reviews too, beginning with a double dose of Destiny. Stefan looked at the single player and co-operative part of House of Wolves, and also the competitive aspect to the latest DLC. Lastly, Tuffcub had a look at The Executioner DLC for The Evil Within, which he thoroughly enjoyed, just as he has done the entire Season Pass of DLC.

Mobile Watch featured Lara Croft Relic Run, an endless runner, as LBP3 was given a ‘Sale It’ Verdict. The Wolf Among Us, meanwhile, is this week’s WeView game, and it’s got off to a mixed start so make sure to have your say in the comments. For our final article, the Chronicle featured Logitech’s rumoured new steering wheel, The Witcher 3’s visuals and Eurovision.

Lastly, Episode 180 of the podcast was a lengthy event, while What We Played #205 featured The Witcher, Destiny and Spy Chameleon.

Grab your bags and let’s head to the Forums:

  • McPhatty asks some questions about having both the PS+ and disk version of games
  • And Crazy Del sensationally quits trophy hunting thanks to a Dying Light bug (I bet he’ll be back at it within a week though!)

And that brings us to the end. Enjoy your last two days of May and I’ll see you next week, bye!

  1. Not coming back gazza. I have 4 Dying Light trophies left for Platinum and these are Mount Everest (climbing) Save Survivors (rare random event) and 2 Co op trophies. I have given the game away. So not returning to it!

    • So no more platinum hunting ever again Del? Sad news :(

    • I’m sorry, but I just can’t see someone as dedicated as you are at trophy hunting giving up! I think you’ve got more platinums than I have bronzes!

    • Have to agree with gazza, you don’t reach those wuthering heights of trophy ownership and then let one games trophy requirements send you into trophy rehab..no no no :P
You’re pissed, they’re shit trophies, you’ll emerge victorious after that dissapointment and smash the next games trophy list ;)

  2. I uploaded my first ever Youtube video.

just a funny little happening in GTA V.

    Pewdiepie watch out.
    yeah, as if. ^_^

i have to say though, for a first attempt, the editing is actually, pretty awful. ^_^

anyway, more importantly, it highlighted a long standing and unresolved issue on PS4.

the upload notifications list getting full and not being able to upload anything.
i tried uploading the video several times till a quick google revealed an SCEE forum post that said what the problem was.

    the aforementioned upload notifications list.

the issue alos affects game save uploads as well, I always wondered why it kept coming up with a message that the saves couldn’t be uploaded.

deleting all the items on the list fixed the issue, but they have to be deleted one by one, a royal pain if you have a lot.
apparently it’s been a known problem for over a year now.

well, now I’ve done one video, i’ll probably try putting out some more when more funny, or if i’m really, really lucky, awesome, stuff happens.

    • Well it’s one way to get on a train ;D
