We’re approaching the weekend once again, so that can mean just one thing: it’s time for another edition of What We Played. It’s the piece we do every week to keep you in the loop about what the staff here at TSA have been playing over the past seven days. So, let’s get you good and looped.
Stefan got us started this week with a run on Destiny’s Trials of Osiris, which saw him making it as far as Mercury on two different occasions. He also managed to take down Skolas, which left him grinning from ear to ear for the remainder of that day. He followed that up with the completion of the final GTA V heist with Crazy Del, Youles and his brother at his side. He finished this week off by playing The Assembly, which is a VR adventure game, as well as a couple of other secret titles that even I’m not cool enough to know about.
Jim is up next and had a busy week of playing games, starting with Magicka 2, which he reviewed and gave an above average but not great 6 out of 10 score. He played the game Wander, which he had… strong things to say about. He also dabbled in The Witcher 3 and Steins Gate, but he spent a good chunk of his week with Destiny. Though coming back around to the game after a long layoff was tough at first, he eventually came around.
After pestering Tef, I was able to tackle the learning curve and eventually work my way up to a respectable level. Last week my Destiny fever hit its peak after purchasing the new House of Wolves expansion. Now, many hours later, I can say that I finally “get” Destiny and eagerly await news of its so-called “Year Two”.
Next we have Mark, who spent all of his gaming time this week playing The Witcher 3, which he’s really starting to enjoy. He says he’s finally got a good grasp of the combat and he’s making good progress in the campaign. He has noticed a handful of visual bugs that have been off-putting, but he’s hopeful we’ll get another patch in the near future.
Tuffcub also played a bit of Wander this week, and… he wasn’t exactly fond of it either. I’ll just put this here, in case you want to know more. Other than that, it’s been more Destiny, a dash of Diablo III and a bit of Super Exploding Zoo. I can’t decide if Super Exploding Zoo sounds awesome or terrifying.
Finally there’s Dom. He’s been playing a lot of Splatoon, a game he’s enjoyed so much that his wife had to come remind him at 4am one night that sleep is necessary for human beings. He’s also been playing Monster Hunter 4 and Final Fantasy X, along with Ultimate Street Fighter IV. He had a few things to say about the latter.
USFIV still plays an enjoyable game of Street Fighter, but it’s anything but the definitive edition it should have been. Things have improved with this week’s patch but again early adopters are punished by picking up an unfinished product.
That just leaves me, but it’s been a bit of light week for this guy. I’ve continued my way through The Witcher 3, but after nearly 25 hours I still don’t feel like I’m anywhere close to the end of the game. But I’m still really enjoying it so I’m not too bothered by the length. I also started playing Diablo III with a friend, so we’re methodically working our way through act one of that. This marks the fourth time I’ve played through it so it’s starting to get a bit stale for me, even though the game itself is quite good.
So there it is, you’ve been successfully looped. Now it’s your turn to send us around and around by telling us what you’ve been playing. Head to the comments and catch us up.

Still the Witcher 3 for me. I keep getting distracted by side-quests, contracts and treasure hunts so the main story has taken a bit of a back seat this week. Some of the fights are really challenging but occasionally poor AI makes them far too easy. I beat one from behind monster cos it was stuck running in to a wall. Still loving it though
Carrot381
One monster from behind!
A ‘one from behind monster’ sounds like something from a Carry On film.

I’ve played a lot of the Witcher 3, and still playing Diablo 3 as well, brilliant game. Also picked up Super Stardust Ultra in the PS4 sale. Good fun, pretty good for £5.
I’ve been trying and failing to do a hell run in Spelunky on my Vita for a while, might manage it one day.

Finished the GTA5 heists on PS3 with my brother, Teflon and Del – which was great (on the whole) as we did them all in order, every Monday over the last couple of months. I say on the whole as the meets weren’t without connection problems, missions not downloading etc – and Del unfortunately got kicked as we completed the 5th finale, which certainly spoiled the ending somewhat. (Thanks guys for your help, much appreciated!!) The $2M bonuses came in handy for spending $8M on heist vehicles (trophy), so I just need to get 25 Platinum medals for the final heists trophy.
Other than that I completed the GTA5 single player on PS3 and just have a bit of mopping up for the platinum.
I also played some Black Ops zombies to help my brother with a few trophies for his platinum.
I think the only PS4 I’ve played this week is the Project CARS community event time trial. I did want to play Ether One and the Dying Light DLC, but since both games have been broken I’ve been waiting for their patches to be released!
Pixel_nme
I know Dying Light was patched upto 1.5 the other day don’t know if that helps.
Youles
Yeah thanks mate, the new patch stops people’s stats getting wiped now, and in some cases has restored stats (albeit not entirely accurately) for a lot of people.

Also Ether One got a patch, which I hope works. Can’t go in the house to put the envelope in the postbox without the game shutting off.Hopefully all that’s sorted as it’s a really decent game.

Monday Borderlands with Forrest and R1MJAW,quite a bit of Destiny some Battlefield 4 and Diablo, played some more Maddening Overload and the new Portal table on zen2,bits and bobs of Roundabout quick go of The Escapists and Beach Buggy Racing, last but not least I have been playing through Batman Arkham Asylum.
TSBonyman
Not a lot this week, some more farming/levelling in Bloodborne and tried a few of the plus games, Futuridium, Exploding Zoo and Shogun Warriors, without warming to any of them.

Finished CoD Ghosts, now gone back to AC Chronicles China.

I’ve been enjoying a little bit of Tony Hawks HD and quite a bit more of Lumines on my Vita. Lumines is an odd type of game, it only appeals as a quick distraction but as soon as I start playing in hooked, yesterday I must’ve ended up slinking three hours into it according to a trophy that pinged and reminded me I had ironing to do! Top quality puzzling with great tunes, shame it doesn’t work on the Vita TV really.

If you are playing the story of Diablo 3 for the fourth time then that is why it is boring…the game is simple yet deep when you get into Adventure Mode with Rift, Greater Rifts and Legendary Gems to upgrade…I’ve been doing that every day since last August and I’ve only really done that for two out of the six classes.
Doing the story and getting to Level 70 is just the start…

Witcher 3. It’s quite difficult not to get sidetracked, as there’s so much to explore, and you constantly come across interesting stuff. Found the three witches quite creepy, and I also finally managed to get better dodging when fighting stronger enemies.
But the whole improving weapons/using potions bit still needs a lot more exploring.

Cambo and I are playing Champions of Norrath Return to Arms on PlayStation 2…… OLD SCHOOL! xD
