Ghost Recon Changes Target With New Title, Wildlands

Ubisoft have surprised us yet again, this time by revitalising an old IP rather than revealing a new one at the end of their show. This time it’s Ghost Recon Wildlands with the game taking a more covert, black market approach to proceedings.

Gameplay sees players taking on illegal operations such as drug busts and more in four player co-op, across a massive and stunning open world. It looks quite varied, with a lot of operations to tackle across the lands. There’s no word on a release date just yet, but we can assume it’ll be a while off.

It does seem to be following the usual Ubisoft pattern, however, with the massive open world and tackle-the-compound gameplay, but it’s nice to see the franchise move in a different direction.

  1. Thought this was Call of Juarez at first, then Far Cry for a bit. Suppose Ghost Recon makes sense, what with the other Clancy games. Still, nice to actually have a surprise!
