UK Charts 27/06/15: Batman Rises To The Top

Was it ever really in doubt that Batman: Arkham Knight would land the top spot in the UK sales charts this week? With no other major AAA cross-platform releases to stand in its way, the game didn’t just sweep into first place but did so with style, setting a new first week sales record for the year and beating The Witcher 3’s previous high water mark in the process.

Behind the Batman, LEGO Jurassic World and The Elder Scrolls Online both shift down one place, while Yoshi’s Woolly World comes in fourth, as the second best placed new entry of the week. Further new releases saw Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, which will likely have had a larger proportion of digital sales than physical, manage to come in 10th, while MotoGP 15 entered in 13th and J-Stars Victory VS+ came in 18th.

  1. Very happy (and surprised) to see Heavensward in the top ten. It’s an incredible expansion to an already amazing game – hopefully it’s release will encourage some new players to give FFXIV a try.

  2. Arkham Knight is one of those hyped up games that just lives up to it!
And the game definitely hasn’t been cut for content for the season pass, buckets of stuff to do yet you don’t feel overwhelmed. Also the ‘side’ content is really integrated well in the sense that it’s very much ‘story’ content.

I’d probably buy the season pass if it wasn’t so expensive and I had to wait 6 months for it all.
