Never Alone’s beguiling setting and exploration of Iñupiat culture and mythology captured the imaginations of many people, both when it first released last year and also when it was later featured on PlayStation Plus. That original story is set to be added to on July 28th, with the release of the Foxtails DLC.
Foxtail’s three levels have been inspired by another tale, that of The Two Coastal Brothers, as told by WIllia Panik Goodwin, Sr. However, rather than translating this story of two contrasting but interdependent brother directly, it is being adapted to the similarly interwoven dynamic between Nuna and Fox.
Both will gain new abilities: Nuna can row in the umiaq, which is a sealskin canoe, while Fox can interact with spirits to alter underwater currents. These abilities will be put to use tackling more involved puzzles, some of which will be related to the more nautical adventure set in the waters of Northwest Alaska. In addition to the change of setting, there’s also a change of season, with the first blooms of spring amidst the melting snow set to lend the game some more diverse artwork.
Finally, it was announced that PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita owners are going to be brought into the fold, with the game making its way to those platforms some time later this year.

Hmmm, three extra levels for what was quite a short game… a delightful if sometimes glitchy game.. i’ll be interested at the right price.
